Sage Hall Research provides rigorous, independent analysis on the forces reshaping global economics, technology, and careers — helping individuals and organizations navigate what comes next.
The foundation was laid in China. Four years as a Sales Manager for Procter & Gamble in Beijing — before most Western firms had figured out how to operate there — instilled a discipline of clear communication, ground-level market instincts, and an enduring respect for execution. P&G's influence on the way ideas are communicated here is deliberate and acknowledged.
Coming to the US in 1999 for an MBA at Cornell brought rigorous analytical training and exposure to the strategic frameworks of Bain & Company and Accenture. Those experiences sharpened the thinking. The career that followed was built in finance: entering the industry in 2003, earning the CFA in 2008, and ultimately spending the final eight years managing investment portfolios at a US multi-family office — overseeing roughly $300 million on behalf of two principal families.
“It is time to do what I deeply care about: research on opportunities that will change the world, and inspire young minds whenever I can.”
Retirement from institutional finance is a reorientation, not a retreat. The four research areas at Sage Hall Research are not arbitrary — they are the questions that occupied the back of the mind through decades of investment work: the US–China relationship, the meaning of AI, the future of money, and how a young person builds a career through all of it. Now there is the freedom and the time to pursue those questions seriously.
A particular focus is on talented high school students thinking seriously about their futures — helping them approach college planning and the years beyond with genuine strategy rather than anxiety. This is not test-prep or résumé polishing. It is about helping a young person understand the world they are entering and make decisions they will be proud of.
Sage Hall Research focuses on four interconnected areas where the pace of change is highest — and where rigorous, independent analysis creates the most value.
